Daisy Delight Thank You Card

SU! demos get to pre-order items from upcoming new catalogues and I took advantage of that perk and bought some goodies from the new SU! catalogue that will go live on the 1st June!  One of the products I just had to have was the 'Daisy Delight' bundle - a stamp set and a matching daisy punch.  I also got the DSP that goes with the 'Delightful Daisy' suite of products and I got the new In Colors CS and ink pads. There were a few more items in my order as well of course!

Tranquil Tide is one of the new In Colors and it goes beautifully with Mint Macaron.  I came across this lovely card on Pinterest made by Debbie Blake and I made my own CASEd version.  I stamped and punched three daisies, lightly daubed the petal edges with Mint Macaron ink, shaped the daisies, stacked the layers and popped the daisy up.  I stamped, fussy cut and shaped three leaves and placed a faceted gem (available in the new catalogue!) in the centre of the daisy. I have some assorted size daisy punches in my stash and I couldn't resist adding some small Tranquil Tide daisies to a corner of my image panel!  Small rhinestone jewels were added to the daisy centres.

Here's a closer look at the dimensional daisy.

Here's the inside of the card and the back of the envelope.

Another of my new catalogue purchases was the 'Label Me Pretty' Labels bundle - a label punch and a matching stamp set.  I sometimes put name labels on the front of my envelopes and I did just that for this card.  The pretty circle stamp has words inside ('thank you for caring') but I know I'll get more use out of the stamp without the words so I very, very carefully cut the words out of the circle.  I used to be scared of cutting parts of stamps away but I'm happy to do it now when I know I'll get more use out of the stamp after I've performed surgery!  I popped up the white punched circle.  I love the layered label look!  Obviously I'll have to give this card to someone with a short name!

Supplies:

Ink: SU! Mint Macaron & Tranquil Tide

New Home Card

This was a very belated housewarming card and gift for my friend Nicola who works at Wilko.  I was in Home Sense a couple of months ago and saw this lovely house shaped mirrored tealight holder which I thought would make a perfect housewarming gift.  I bought it home and placed it on a shelf in my craft room to remind me to make a card to go along with the gift.  Weeks and weeks later I finally got around to making the card!

I popped up the Memory Box 'Brevilla Houses' die cut - I love that the little doors open!  The words are from the MFT 'Label Maker Sentiments' stamp set.  I added a pop of red with three tiny punched hearts.

I used various images from the Penny Black 'Embellishments' stamp set to decorate inside the card and the envelope.  This is the inside of the card.

Here is the envelope.

As well as the tealight holder I bought a box of scented tealights and I wrapped both in tissue paper and placed them in a cellophane bag.  I made a tag and attached it to the bag with baker's twine.

Here's a closer look at the tag.  I love the subtle detail of the stitching!

Honestly, I MUST try harder to get things made in a more timely manner!

Stamps: MFT 'Label Maker Sentiments' set, 'With Love' from SU! 'Field Flowers' set, Penny Black 'Embellishments' set, Woodware 'A Gift for You'

Tools: Memory Box 'Brevilla Houses' die, SU! 'Layering Squares' & 'Stitched Shapes' Framelits die sets, small hearts punched from SU! 'Owl Builder' punch

Jar Of Flowers Thanks Card

I've not had much time for crafting and blogging in the past few weeks plus a nasty virus laid me low for a while.  Thankfully I'm much better now and it's great to be back in my craft room making cards!

The two step flowers from the SU! 'Jar of Love' set are so pretty, I love them!  For ages I've been wanting to create a jar of flowers card using the set and I finally made one.  I used Island Indigo CS for the A6 card base and the mat layer is Soft Sky CS.  I used a mix of first and second generation stamping for the stems, leaves and flowers.  I stamped the jar in Early Espresso ink and popped that up after die cutting the shape.  I stamped quite a few flowers and leaves, die cut them and then had lots of fun arranging my 'bouquet'!  I added three rhinestone jewels after I'd stamped the sentiment for that all important touch of sparkle.

Here's the inside of the card and the back of the envelope.  There are some sweet accessories in the 'Jar of Love' stamp set - like a burlap strip and a twine bow - I just had to try them out and I loved the finished look.  I stamped the 'For You' sentiment on the burlap strip and popped the jar up on the envelope flap.  I had some flowers left over so I added a couple of flowers to the bottom of the jar and placed a few inside next to the sentiment.

Supplies:
Stamps: SU! 'Jar of Love' & 'Simply Sketched' sets
CS: SU! Island Indigo, Soft Sky & Whisper White

Patterned paper: SU! 'Blooms & Bliss' DSP
Ink: SU! Soft Sky, Island Indigo, Pear Pizzazz, Blushing Bride & Rose Red
Tools: SU! 'Everyday Jars' Framelits die set
Embellishments & accessories: SU! rhinestone jewels, Dimensionals

May 2017 Card Group Projects

Card group came around really fast this month as we got together a week later in April - I expected to be scrambling at the last minute but surprisingly I managed to get three cards designed and kitted up in good time for our meeting yesterday!

Card one is a bright and cheery little number, I think yellow and blue is a happy combo and I've combined So Saffron and Marina Mist here.  I've seen many variations on this card design on Pinterest and I've been meaning to make a version myself for ages.  This pic shows the card closed.

In this pic you can see the inside of the card peeking through from the back.  I cut 1" off from the side of the A6 sized card base and stamped the Bubble Wrap background in Crushed Curry ink.  I popped up the sentiment oval and popped up each flower.  I embellished each flower centre with a So Saffron  1/4" punched circle.

This pic shows the card fully open with the pretty decorative edge.

Here's the inside and the envelope.

The second card also features a decorative edge.  My good friend Jan made me a lovely card using the Yvonne Creations Spring-tastic 'Butterfly Border' die and I just had to get the die for myself!  I've used a favourite colour combo of mine - black and white with a dash of bright - in this case Tempting Turquoise.

Here's the card open.  The die cuts the fancy border at the top but there's no cutting edge along the bottom of the die so it's ideal for cutting a decorative edge on the front of a card base.  I added a strip of Tempting Turquoise 'ribbon' cut using a die from the Memory Box 'Grosgrain Ribbons' die set and I popped up the sentiment label.  The Tempting Turquoise fancy butterfly was cut out using a treasured punch - the Craft Tonic Multi Detail Butterfly punch.  This punch came out many, many years ago and became a 'must have' item.  It didn't seem to stay around very long and they became difficult to find.  I love the design, the size and the shape of the butterfly.  Knowing I can't get the punch again should it break I'm precious about this punch and so I punched out all the butterflies for my ladies!

Here's the inside of the card.  I glued a white panel inside the card, rounded the top corners, stamped a sentiment and added a black grosgrain 'ribbon' strip.

Here's the envelope.

Card three was CASEd from a lovely card made by Rina Meushaw I came across on Pinterest.  I stamped the dots in Sahara Sand ink, the leaves in Old Olive, the flowers in Bermuda Bay and the flower centres and sentiment in Early Espresso ink.  I used the SU! 'Layering Squares' Framelits die set to cut the squares and the frame.  I fussy cut the flowers, popped those up and added Bermuda Bay sequins to finish the card front.

Here's the inside of the card and the envelope.

We had two birthday girls at card group yesterday and they both brought in scrummy home made cakes - chocolate brownies and a Victoria sponge.  They looked so delicious but I'm losing weight following Slimming World so I was angelic and passed on the cakes!  I had a banana, yogurt and a Hi Fi bar instead.  I do hope my halo doesn't slip down and strangle me!

Floral & Lacy Birthday Flip Card

This is the birthday flip card and envelope I made for my lovely friend Lesley using the SU! 'Jar of Love' set and papers from the 'Falling in Love' DSP pack.  I love the pretty flowers from the SU! 'Jar of Love' set and you don't always have to include a jar when you use them!

Here's the front view of the card.  I used Sweet Sugarplum CS for the card base and I stamped the flowers in Sweet Sugarplum and Rich Razzleberry inks and the leaves in Sahara Sand ink.  I popped up the Very Vanilla stitched oval and all the flowers.  A touch of sparkle was added with some Sweet Sugarplum glitter ribbon.

Here's the reverse of the flip panel.

I glued a Very Vanilla panel to the back of the flip card so I had somewhere to write my message.

Here's the card flat ready to go in the envelope.
