Monochrome Snowman Couple Wobble Spring Merry Christmas Card

Another snowman wobble spring card, this time a square monochrome version.  Here's the card and envelope together.

The card measures 5 1/2" square and I used Basic Black, Gray Granite and Whisper White CS.  This time I remembered to stamp the sentiment before I embossed the white panel with a snowflakes folder!  I used SU! Stampin' Blends to colour the snow couple, fussy cut the image and mounted it on a wobble spring.  I tied a snowflake charm to the gingham ribbon, added Orange Peel Stickles to the noses and sprinkled on a few self adhesive snowflake embellishments.

Snowman Couple Wobble Spring Merry Christmas Card

Clearly I'm on a snowman card kick at the moment!  Snowmen are one of my favourite Christmas themes so it's not surprising really!  I was determined to make a wobble spring snowman card after that didn't work with my previous card.  Here's the card and envelope together.

I've used Highland Heather CS for the card base and I embossed the white stitched rectangle with the SU! 'Winter Snow' embossing folder.  I should have remembered to stamp the sentiment first!  I stamped the sentiment on a separate piece of CS, fussy cut it and popped it up.  I coloured the snowmen with SU! Stampin' Blends, fussy cut the image and mounted it on a wobble spring.  I added Orange Peel Stickles to the noses.

Merry & Bright Patchwork Snowman Card

This card features the paper piecing technique which I haven't done in a while.  It was a very time consuming card to make due to the multiple stamping to get different colours and then the fussy cutting.  Also I had to stamp the snowman many times to get clear impressions, in places it was very blotchy.  I've had the stamp for many years and it hasn't held up well but I persevered to get one last card made with it.  Sad to say this cheery snowman stamp has now been sent to stamp heaven!  Here's the card and envelope together.

I used a kraft 6" x 6" card base and the mat layer is SU! Bermuda Bay CS.  I cut the white panel with a stitched rectangle die and embossed it with the SU! 'Winter Snow' embossing folder, fast becoming a favourite folder!  I used SU! Stampin' Blends here and there to add some dimension to some paper pieced areas and I added some sparkle with Xmas Red Stickles on the holly berries and gloves. The white panel and the snowman are both popped up on Dimensionals.  I wanted to use a wobble spring for the snowman but the snowman tipped forward, it wouldn't sit right and the bottom of the snowman kept hitting the white panel so I had to settle for a popped up snowman!  Cheery red and white gingham ribbon adds a nice touch and I added snowflake sequins, self adhesive snowflake embellishments and some gold glittered red gems for some festive fanciness.

Snow Scene Celebrate The Season Card

This is a card I made with the SU! 'Snow Front' stamp set.  I love the look of sets like this but I must admit these scene building sets are challenging to me.  I can get intimidated and easily discouraged if things don't go well, but I'm reasonably happy with how this turned out!  Here's the card and envelope together.

The card base is Basic Gray and the mat layer is Pool Party.  After I'd stamped the scene I cut the white panel using an A6 stitched rectangle die and glued it in place.  I wish I'd have stamped the Pool Party ink off once rather than stamping it full strength. but hey ho!  I added Wink of Stella shimmer to the snow lines and to the sweet little snowman.  As a final finishing touch I added three self adhesive snowflake embellishments.

This card has nothing popped up and no bulky embellishments so would be ideal to send through the post.  The same can't be said for the next few cards I'll share here on the blog - those cards are definitely hand deliver only!

Blue Floral 80th Birthday Wishes Card

Our neighbour and good friend Kath celebrated her 80th birthday last weekend and this is the card I made for her.  I used the beautiful SU! set 'Blossoms in Bloom' and a colour combo of Seaside Spray, Misty Moonlight, Night of Navy and Whisper White.

The card measures 5 1/2" square and I embossed the right hand side using the 'Tasteful Textile' 3D embossing folder.  I inked the large floral stamp with Seaside Spray ink and then added Misty Moonlight ink to the flower centres using a sponge dauber.  I used the old, retired SU! 'Memorable Moments' set for the '80th'.  I stamped smaller flowers separately, fussy cut them and popped them up.  I stamped the smaller flowers in stamped off once Misty Moonlight ink and added Night of Navy ink with a sponge dauber.  The flower centres were stamped in Mango Melody ink and I used Granny Apple Green ink for the leaves.  I added a flagged sentiment strip and sprinkled on a few blue gems to finish the front.

Forever Greenery Hello Card

This card is CASEd from page 109 of the SU! 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue.  I love the 'Forever Greenery' suite of products, the patterned paper and the colours are just gorgeous!  I must confess that for the first time ever I've splurged on buying a whole suite of products.  Some successful ebay selling provided some funds so why not?!

Here's the card.  I used a Soft Sea Foam card base but covered the front of it with the leafy paper cut using a stitched rectangle die.  I embossed the white panel with one of the folders from the 'Greenery' embossing folders set and fixed the gold hoop, the gold laser cut pieces and the bow in place with glue dots.  I popped up the stamped and die cut leaves and the sentiment on Dimensionals.  I added a few gold Gilded Gems and popped up the whole embossed panel on Dimensionals.

Poppies Frame Home Decor Piece

A couple of weeks back my Slimming World consultant, Lisa, was trying hard to motivate and encourage us during a Zoom meeting and she came out with this snappy little slogan "nourish to flourish".  A few days after I found this chunky photo frame in a charity shop and I thought it would be ideal to upcycle as a home decor piece featuring the slogan.

I rummaged through my patterned paper stash to find some pretty paper and I settled on some poppies so that determined what to use to decorate the outside of the frame.  This project provided a fantastic opportunity to use my SU! 'Playful Alphabet' dies.  I cut the letters using Early Espresso CS and some Foam Adhesive Sheets which mean the letters are dimensional immediately - I love that!  The 'Poppy Moments' die set has some leaves to go with the poppy blooms but I chose to use a leaf die from the 'Stitched Leaves' die set instead.  I used large glue dots to fix the poppies to the frame.

Snowflakes Double Z Fold Christmas Card

My fabulous friends Lesley and Wendy should have been here with me today for a crafty get together but the 4 week lockdown has put paid to that!  I thought it would be a great idea for us to each share a Christmas card we'd made and have a 'show and tell' during the get together.  It's always wonderful to share inspiration, right?  Well, we can't share in person but there's always video calls!  Anyway, this is the Christmas card I made, it's a Double Z Fold card.  Here's the card and envelope together.

Here's the card front.  If you're going to use 'may your season sparkle' as a sentiment you've got to provide some sparkle and I've used die cut snowflakes cut from Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper and added iridescent gems!

Here's the card opened out.  I love the colour combo of Misty Moonlight, Balmy Blue and Whisper White and the beautiful 'Snowflake Splendor' patterned papers provide a hint of purple too.  I embossed the white panel with the gorgeous 'Winter Snow' embossing folder for some texture and I popped the panel up on Dimensionals.

Here's the end panels.  I stamped the snowflake in stamped off once Balmy Blue ink and stamped the sentiment over the top in Misty Moonlight ink.  It's no secret I'm a lover of layered stamping!

Leaf Happy Birthday Card

Dena Rekow from the Creativity Cave made this CAS fall card which I loved.  I'd just received my SU! Love of Leaves bundle and wanted to use it so I decided to CASE Dena's card.  I didn't stray very far from Dena's design but I made mine a birthday card. 

Here's the card and envelope together.

The colour combo is Garden Green and Crumb Cake.  I used a Claina Palmer Double Stitched A6 nesting rectangle die to cut out the Crumb Cake layer.  I really appreciate how these dies are perfectly sized for UK A6 sized cards.  After stamping the sentiment I popped up the Crumb Cake layer and added a Garden Green ribbon bow and three Glitter Enamel Dots.   

Here's the inside of the card.  I inked the leaf stamp with Crumb Cake ink, stamped off once on scrap paper, stamped on the white layer and stamped the sentiment over the top of the leaf in Garden Green ink.

As I had the Crumb Cake leaf die cut shape left over from the card front I thought I'd use that to decorate the envelope flap.  I used the die that adds stitched veining detail to the leaf and glued it to the flap to finish.

Monochrome Trees Merry Christmas Card

The Stampinis Facebook group have set another challenge - this time the challenge is to make a monochromatic project.  I love a monochrome card so I was very happy to play along!

Just Jade was my colour of choice, it's such a pretty colour.  I've used the SU! 'Winter Woods' and 'Perfectly Plaid' stamp sets.  Here's the card and envelope together.

I used an oval make up brush to apply ink to the masked rectangle area.  Esther Howard from Stampin Star Creations has this fab YouTube video showing how to make the mask - it's an ingenious method!  After applying the ink I stamped the trees using full strength and stamped off once ink and I stamped the sentiment.  While the mask was still in place I smacked a Wink of Stella pen against an acrylic block a few times to add a touch of shimmer.  It's too subtle to see in the photos but it's a lovely effect! 

While I absolutely love my SU! die sets I must confess I've recently bought a set of Claina Palmer A6 Double Stitched Nested Dies and I'm delighted to have dies that are perfectly sized for UK A6 cards.  I used two nesting dies from the set to cut my layers.  I added three self adhesive snowflake embellishments to finish the front.

So very happy to have added another Christmas card to my stash and as it's flat it will be perfect to pop in the post!
