Birdhouse Shaped Card for SA05 Waltzingmouse Stamps Inspiration Challenge

I've made this card for the Stamping Around SA05 Waltzingmouse Stamps inspiration challenge. Please click here to visit the SA05 challenge at the Stamping Around blog - the page will open in a new window.

The very pretty picture Anya chose inspired me to use pale purple, yellow, a darker purple and some green and a touch of pink to make a springtime card. I've got a thing for birdhouse cards at the moment and I really wanted to make a birdhouse shaped card. I Googled to find templates but didn't find what I wanted so I turned to Splitcoast Stampers for help. A kind crafter pointed me in the direction of a fab free template available from Victorine Originals - clicking the link will open the page in a new window. Click on the cards link and scroll down to find the birdhouse template.

I printed out the template onto some thick CS, cut it out and then traced around it onto some SU! Pale Plum CS to make my shaped card. I stamped the birdhouse and roof part with a woodgrain stamp in Pale Plum ink. The roof is popped up with 3d foam pads. I then cut a window out of the front of the card with a circle Nestie die and placed a larger Elegant Eggplant circle on the inside of the card.

I used the smallest die from the Spellbinders Birds Shapeabilities set for my bird and cut it out in Barely Banana CS. I die cut the leaf stem and cut it into 2 pieces. I then used the gorgeous Waltzingmouse Stamps 'Say It with Style' set to stamp the sentiment, the pattern on the bird and the pink flower. The bird and flower are both popped up and I added crystals to both shapes to finish. This cute card measures approx. 5 1/2" x 4 1/2" when finished and fits into a C6 size envelope.

Supplies:
Stamps: Waltzingmouse Stamps 'Say It with Style' set, Hero Arts Designer Woodgrain background stamp

Ink: SU! Pale Plum & So Saffron, VersaMagic Eggplant chalk ink
