What a fun Less Is More challenge this week - to make a one layer card with something that has legs! I decided to make a Christmas card using my very sweet gingerbread man and a retired SU! Christmas set (Peaceful Wishes) I got from eBay a few months ago and hadn't inked up yet.
I started off with a cream A6 card blank, used a rectangle Nestie die to cut out a mask and then I sponged So Saffron ink inside the rectangle. I then stamped the pine boughs, the string and the gingerbread man. I love this little stamp, always makes me smile when I use him! I used two different coloured inks for the sentiment which was easy as I used the tips of dewdrop chalk ink pads. To finish off the front I added some Dazzling Diamonds on the boughs for a touch of seasonal sparkle. I wanted a warm, cosy feel for this card and to try to capture the warm, golden glow of a lit Christmas tree in a room with a coal fire. A table holding a plate of mince pies and a glass of mulled wine would give me a warm glow LOL!
I then stamped a sentiment inside the card and also used the mistletoe image from the SU! set inside and on the envelope flap. My first Christmas card of the year made!
Supplies:
Stamps: SU! Peaceful Wishes & Hung Up on the Holidays sets, sentiment on front from Personal Impressions Christmas Messages clear set, inside sentiment by Penny Black
CS: Anita's A6 cream card blank
Ink: VersaMagic Gingerbread & Red Magic chalk inks, SU! So Saffron, Old Olive & Early Espresso pads, SU! Real Red & Early Espresso markers
Tools: Rectangle Nestabilities die, Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, sponges
Embellishments & accessories: SU! Dazzling Diamonds
Lovely card
