My friend Kath asked me to make two new home cards for her and here is what I made. I don't have new home stamps so I went searching for digital images. I found these sweet coloured birdhouse images at Doodle Pantry - and they were freebies! I printed the image onto Whisper White CS and used Petite Oval Nestie dies to mat and layer. I embossed a piece of Early Espresso Core'dinations CS with the Woodgrain folder, scuffed it, cut it to size to fit on the Pacific Point A6 card and popped the oval up on top. I printed a sentiment from the computer, punched it out with the Modern Label punch and attached it to the woodgrain layer with screw brads. This card is for Kath's grandson so I thought woodgrain and screw brads were perfect for a masculine card!
I put a Whisper White panel inside the card and as Kath had told me she was including a cheque with the card I added a woodgrain pocket. I punched just a portion of the image for the envelope flap element.
Onto the second card which is a CASE of this fab card made by Doris which I came across on Pinterest. I loved the idea of making a table/sideboard using the shape of the Top Note die, what a clever idea! I went rummaging in my paper stash for something suitable for wallpaper and I also found some aqua woodgrain paper for my furniture. I added a top strip and a drawer - I sponged the edges of these with Pool Party ink and added brads to the drawer as knobs. I used the SU! Ornament punch and cut off the bottom to get my contemporary vase shape. I punched 3 small Boho Blossoms flowers, snipped between the petals, shaped them and placed a gem in the centre of each flower. I've used green wire as the flower stems. The vase is glued flat to the card but I popped the flowers up. I printed the sentiment from the computer and matted and layered using oval dies. I made it into a hanging sign with some linen thread and attached it to the patterned paper with a brad so that it swings freely. I then attached the whole front panel to a 5 3/4" square Riding Hood Red card base.
I love the pretty paper I used for the wallpaper on the card front and I couldn't resist putting more of it on the inside and on the envelope flap. I tried out my new SU! Finishing Touches pinking edge die to make the red strip on top of the patterned paper strip. I had such a lot of fun putting these two cards together and I'm very happy to report that Kath loved the cards!
