CAS Agapanthus Fantastic Day Card - CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #10

This is a card I made for the CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #10.  This is a double challenge - a colour combo plus a sketch.

My mojo had disappeared and I thought following a challenge would be a great idea in order to provide focus and to help get my mojo back.  So with the colours and layout decided it should have been a doddle - right?  Hmmm, that didn't quite go to plan - this is my second attempt!  The first card I made I liked but I decided it wasn't really CAS - plus I got an inky smudge inside the card.  I walked away at that point and decided to change direction and start on a brand new card the next day!

I started with a 5 1/4" square white card blank and stamped the two larger agapanthus flowers direct to the card front.  I then cut a white CS rectangle, embossed it with the SU! Lacy Brocade folder, inked the edges of the panel with Island Indigo ink and glued the panel to the card.  I then stamped some smaller agapanthus flowers separately, fussy cut them and popped them up.  I die cut the Bistro Label shape, stamped the sentiment and added rhinestones.

Inside I stamped more flowers and a lovely birthday sentiment.

More stamped flowers on the front of the envelope finished everything off.  Here's hoping the mojo absence was only temporary!

Supplies:
Stamps: Stampendous 'Agapanthus Thank You' clear set, Fantastic Day sentiment from Hero Arts, Stampendous 'Birthday Wish'
CS: PaperMania white square card blank, SU! Whisper White & Tempting Turquoise
Ink:  SU! Not Quite Navy, Tempting Turquoise & Island Indigo
Tools: SU! Lacy Brocade embossing folder, Memory Box 'Bistro Label die, sponge dauber
Embellishments & accessories: SU! Rhinestone Jewels, Dimensionals

  1. wow Ruth, this is stunning. I love this flower stamp (now added to my goodies I want list!). I really like the mix of the bold navy flower and the outline of the lighter blue flower. Great design and I think your mojo has returned!
