Paper Pieced Bird & Bauble Merry Christmas Card

The lovely Woodware 'Little Christmas Bird' stamp was added to my stash a few weeks ago.  I think it's perfect for paper piecing and as I was in the mood for that I went into my craft room and had a happy time stamping and snipping!

I inked the image stamps with VersaMark and stamped on various pieces of CS and patterned paper, heat embossing each image with Early Espresso embossing powder.  After a lot of fussy cutting I pieced the images and added them to the card front, popping up the bird, bauble and holly.  I used a gold gel pen to colour the top of the bauble and highlighted the bauble, berries and bird eye with a white gel pen.  I popped up the sentiment and snowflake and added a rhinestone to the centre.

Here's the inside and the envelope flap.

Supplies:
Stamps: Woodware 'Little Christmas Bird', Dovecraft 'Xmas Holly Leaves', SU! 'Best Yet' set, inside sentiment from Hero Arts 'Holiday Cheer' clear set

Patterned paper: SU! Lucky Limeade DSP, Bo Bunny Paprika Double Dot paper
Ink: VersaMark, SU! Early Espresso, Old Olive & Soft Suede, gold gel pen, white gel pen
Tools: SU! plain oval punch, X Cut snowflake punches, heat tool, sponge daubers

  1. What a perfect stamp set for paper piecing and fussy cutting, my two favorite techniques! I love how you framed the scene and your color choice is perfect for a traditional Christmas look!
