Photo Frame - SSC18

I checked out this week's Simply Stampin' challenge to find it's entitled Photo Love.  I've had the Sizzix Tim Holtz Small Easel die for a few weeks but hadn't got round to using it so this challenge was the perfect opportunity for me to try it out!  I've just got the X Cut Doorplate dies as well so I thought I'd use those too!  I've made a photo frame which at the moment is hosting a black and white photo of our cat Tingha.  He's quite a co-operative subject, happy to pose - unlike our other cat Tucker who won't keep still long enough!  I've made the frame with a piece of Crumb Cake CS at the back which is attached to the Early Espresso piece with 3d foam tape just at the bottom and sides.  This means I can easily slide photos in and out so photos can be rotated regularly.

The Early Espresso piece measures 5 1/2" x 3 3/4" and I used the Vintage Wallpaper folder to emboss it and I rounded the corners.  I used two sizes of Doorplate dies to create the aperture and the Crumb Cake frame.  I've attached a piece of acetate behind the Espresso piece, attached a Crumb Cake panel at the back with 3d foam tape and then glued the easel to the Crumb Cake panel.  I decorated the front of the frame with die cut leaves using the Little Leaves Sizzlits die and added stamped and punched flowers.  The stamp is from the Punch Potpourri set, I used Razzleberry ink on Very Vanilla CS and punched them out with the Boho Blossoms punch.  I cut all the petals a little deeper and shaped them by pressing an embossing stylus in the centre of each flower on a moulding mat - a fab tip I got from my SU! demo Joanne.  It adds dimension and shaping to punched flowers and is easy to do - my kind of tip!
