The very talented Patty Gorka is a fellow Design Team member at the 52 {C}CT blog and she recently set up her own challenge blog - ABC Challenges. I have been wanting to take part in Patty's challenges from the start but I just haven't managed it so far. Yay, this week I've made it and am playing along with the ABC Anything Goes challenge!
I love the gingerbread man stamp from the SU! Scentsational Season set and I've been wanting to make a card featuring a line of the sweet gingerbread men. I've had the idea for this card brewing for some time and I have now made it a reality. I made a 5" x 7" card from Real Red CS and then chopped about 3/4" off the bottom of the front of the card so that the card rests on the line of gingerbread men. I stamped and die cut 5 gingerbread men and glued them to the front of the card - for strength I then decided to stamp and die cut 5 more and I glued those to the back of the front ones. I then added the patterned paper, punched strip and the sentiment label and pearls. To finish off the front I added a strip of Soft Suede dotted ribbon and glued a flat bow on top.
Inside I used more patterned paper and added a punched Real Red strip. I used Real Red and Soft Suede markers to ink the sentiment, layered that onto a Real Red mat and glued it on the wonk in front of a stamped and die cut gingerbread man.
For the envelope I simply covered the flap with the pretty snowflake paper. I couldn't resist this paper with it's lovely colours! I really like how this turned out, I think it's a very cheery card. I see another card like this in my future - but made with the Christmas tree from the Scentsational Season set maybe!
