First we made a birdhouse card. The So Saffron CS was cut to 15 x 7.5 cms and scored at the halfway mark to make a 7.5 cms square card. To make the roof, the Choc Chip CS was cut to a 4" square and the piece of patterned paper was cut to a 3" square and both were cut in half diagonally. The Eyelet Border punch was used on the Choc Chip piece to give the roof a scalloped edge. Before gluing the roof piece to the card front, we stamped the foliage flourish stamp from the Vintage Vogue set on opposite corners in So Saffron ink.
The 'hole' for the birdhouse was made with a Choc Chip 1 3/8" punched circle. The bird was punched in Taken with Teal CS and the wing was punched in Tempting Turquoise CS. We stamped the wing with the foliage flourish stamp and then spritzed the wing and body with Shimmer Paint. Joanne had mixed some paint with some alcohol in a spray bottle. It gives a lovely sheen to the birdie! For the eye, we used one of the waste dots from punching with the Eyelet Border punch - a tad fiddly to stick that tiny dot! We used a DEET and a moulding mat to add some shaping to the branches and the flower. I added an olive crystal to the centre of my flower after I came home. The bird is popped up. I really loved making this card, I'm so taken with the birdhouse design!
The second card we made used the fabulously gorgeous Vintage Vogue stamp set, I think this is going to become a favourite set of mine! I do love flower stamps and this set is particularly charming and I can't wait to add it to my collection! I love the Rose Red and Mellow Moss colour combo Joanne chose. It may be hard to see in the photo, but we stamped the border stamp from the set at the top left and bottom right of the card in Rose Red ink. We stamped the flourish a few times on the Whisper White CS and then stamped the sentiment and flowers - we stamped off once with the Rose Red ink for a couple of the flowers to get a lighter colour. The larger flower is popped up. To finish, we added pearls to the flower centres.
