My neighbour Kath asked me to make a card for her to give to a friend's daughter who had just undergone surgery and is in for a very challenging time. I used my pop up butterfly punch and a fave pink and green colour combo and opted for a Thinking of You sentiment.
The card measures 5 3/4" square and was made with SU! Certainly Celery CS. The patterned paper behind the butterfly and at the bottom of the card is by Lasting Impressions, it's a beautiful deep pink colour. I punched the butterfly out of celery CS and then cut it out with a circle Nestie. I matted onto Pretty in Pink and Chocolate Chip plain and scalloped circles. The butterfly trail was made with a stamp from a Hero Arts clear stamp set.
The sentiment just fitted inside my fave frame die. I tied some celery grosgrain ribbon around the card before popping up the sentiment piece. I punched some small flowers and added silver shimmer dots to the flower centres and butterfly body to finish.
Kath told me yesterday that the lady cried after opening this card, she thought it was so lovely and said it was the best card she received. I sometimes think of this hobby as being quite frivolous but hearing that made me feel rather emotional - but pleased my little card could reach out and touch someone's life even in a small way.
