Blue Coneflower Best Wishes - July 2010 Card Group Project

This is the third card we made at our July card group meeting. I gave Mo a birthday card at our get together in June like this and the ladies liked it and wanted to make the card themselves. Many thanks to Joanne for the inspiration, I've totally CASEd this design from one of the cards we made at a Stampers Ten make and take! By the way, CASE = Copy And Selectively Edit.

The card is a standard A6 size. The petals were stamped in Not Quite Navy ink onto patterned paper and then cut out. The points were then glued to a 1" circle which makes it easier to position the flower on the white panel. The top of the coneflower was made with a 1" circle punch, cut in half. The stem was drawn with a Not Quite Navy marker and was drawn to mimic the lines of the petal stamp. The petals are popped up at the bottom and the top of the coneflower is also popped up.

A strip of So Saffron ribbon is wrapped around a Not Quite Navy CS strip and the sentiment frame is glued over the top. I used a ticket corner punch on the white panel and then wanted to add saffron dots. I went in search of a suitable size circle maker and the Sizzlits Gift, Polka Dot die had the perfect size dots, yay! Lots of dots made in one pass through the Sidekick too, fab!
