Today is Owen's birthday and this is the card I made for him. I saw this fab card in the Splitcoast Stampers gallery, loved it and decided to CASE it. I made mine a square card - it's just a tad under 6" square - and did the sentiment and ribbon differently and used a different border punch.
For the image panel, I lightly sponged So Saffron and Pumpkin Pie ink first onto the Whisper White circle before applying the sun mask. Then I added more Pumpkin Pie, Really Rust and Bravo Burgundy inks. I then stamped the branch and bird in Chocolate Chip ink. I went over the bird with a Choc Chip marker to darken it.
I embossed the Choc Chip panel with a Sizzix Texturz plate and rounded the right hand corners. I used the Dotted Wave punch on the More Mustard panel and scored two lines using my Scor-Pal before attaching the ribbon. I added a chocolate candy dot next to the sentiment and popped up the scalloped circle.
This photo shows the inside of the card and the envelope flap. I also decorated the front of the envelope with a horizontal strip of pumpkin dotty patterned paper and a mustard strip punched with the Dotted Wave punch separated by narrow chocolate lines made with a marker pen.
I'm hoping Owen has a great day and that it's warm enough for us to sit outside at the local pub this evening to enjoy the stunning view.
