Yesterday was our July card group get together and we made a birdhouse gift box and a butterflies card. The ladies saw these projects at Joanne's when we had our SU! workshop and really liked them so I said we'd make them at card group. Unfortunately, two ladies weren't able to attend - you were missed Margaret A. and Margaret B! I've blogged the birdhouse box before
on this post here so I won't show it again. Just click the link if you'd like to view the post. The group made the second box featured on the post, the one with the lift tab.
As the birdhouse box was fairly time consuming I only took one card for the group to make this month. I did give the ladies a choice though - they could choose whether to use the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig or not. For this simpler version of the card I used the Watercolor Vine wheel stamp. As I'm so wheel challenged I always unmount my wheels, add Kling-On and use them with an acrylic block. So for this card it was a case of just stamping the vine and sentiment and then adding the die cut, embossed butterflies and gems.
For the more involved version we used the gorgeous flourish stamp from the Vintage Vogue set which required the use of the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to make the line of flourishes. This version had more white space so I added a decorative punched edge and a strip. Both designs were made with a side opening landscape A6 Marina Mist card base.
Supplies:
