There are lots of sets available but the accompanying product videos help when it comes to choosing. As MFT (My Favorite Things) are a US company I figured the rectangular Blueprints die sets would be best suited to US A2 sized cards rather than the UK A6 sized cards. Therefore, I decided to go for a square Blueprints set and after much deliberating I opted for the Blueprints 14 set.
Here are the sketch layouts that MFT have designed for the Blueprints 14 set.
For my first card using the set I made things simple by very faithfully following the sketch from the bottom left corner. I die cut the shapes from CS and some pretty papers from the Penny Black 'Painted Blooms' 6" x 6" paper pad and used a Pear Pizzazz SU! CS square card base. I stamped the sentiment in SU! Tangerine Tango ink, I added baker's twine to the holes in the die cut button and I popped up the flower.
Here's the inside and the envelope. I love that the dotted scallop border shape is sized perfectly to fit the large stitched square shape! I glued the scalloped border to the stitched square, added a Pear Pizzazz CS strip and glued the stitched square inside the card. To decorate the envelope I simply layered a strip of patterned paper to a larger strip of Pear Pizzazz CS.
Very quick and easy! I think this Blueprints 14 die set will prove extremely useful when I'm short on crafting time or my mojo has gone AWOL! I definitely don't have as much crafting time these days so I'll take whatever assistance I can get! I've made a second card with the set following a different sketch and I'll share that here soon.
