WMSC7 Stocking Warm Christmas Wishes Card

A card made for Waltzingmouse Stamps Sketch Challenge 7 and my first Christmas card of 2010!

EDITED TO ADD: This card got me a Top Mouse award from the WMS Sketch Challenge blog, I'm chuffed to bits!

When we stayed at our friends home in the Cotswolds a couple of weeks ago, I knew I'd miss my card making so I took some stamping supplies with me. I've had so much fun with the WMS Sewing Box Hugs set I couldn't resist getting the Sewing Box Christmas set too. I made sure to take my new stamps with me! Even though I didn't make entire cards, I got some stamping and cutting out done so I didn't suffer withdrawal symptoms! The stocking was one of the images I made and when I saw WMSC7 I thought it would be perfect. Here's the sketch:

The card is A6 sized and was made with SU! Kraft CS. The patterned papers I used are all scraps of old Basic Grey Christmas papers. I've embossed the large deep red panel with my new PaperMania Victorian Fleur embossing folder - love it! After embossing I lightly sanded it. I used the wavy border stamp from the Sewing Box Hugs set to stamp my words onto - I slightly curved the two longer words on the blocks before stamping.

To finish off, I threaded paper strips through the button holes and attached them to the card with glue dots. The stocking is popped up with 3d foam pads. I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone else has done with this fab sketch!

Supplies:
Stamps: Waltzingmouse Stamps Sewing Box Christmas & Sewing Box Hugs sets
CS: SU! Kraft
Patterned paper: Basic Grey Fruitcake & Figgy Pudding papers
Ink: SU! Chocolate Chip
Tools: Scalloped and plain square Nestabilities dies, PaperMania Victorian Fleur embossing folder
Embellishments & accessories: Fine sandpaper, buttons, 3d foam pads
