Stars Christmas Cheer Card - 52 {C}CT March Theme Challenge

Patricia has chosen a wonderful theme for our challenge at 52 {C}CT this week - stars.

I started off by making a Bermuda Bay shaped card using the largest Rectangle Parenthesis die from the X Cut nesting die set.  I'd borrowed the die set from a friend to try out but then I had to get my own set - I'm a sucker for bracket shapes!  This die shape is ideal for making shaped cards as the bottom of the shape is fairly straight which means the cards will stand up well.  I die cut the damask patterned paper using the same die and covered the card front with it.  I used Sizzix star dies to create my large star element and I placed a Bermuda Bay Candy Dot and brad base in the centre.  The card is too large to fit inside a C6 envelope so I'm using a 5" x 7" envelope which allows for some overhang so when I glued on my large star I let it go outside the card boundaries.  The patterned paper star and sentiment flag banner are popped up.  I completed the card front with some punched small sparkly silver stars.

I cannot get a good photo of this card colour wise, the gorgeous Bermuda Bay greeny blue colour is not coming through at all, it looks more turquoise in the photos!

Here's the inside of the card.  I heat embossed the sentiment on the patterned paper with white embossing powder.

Here's the decorated envelope flap which finished the card off.

I hope you'll join us for this week's challenge at 52 {C}CT, I'm looking forward to seeing all the starry creations!

The glittery silver looks terrific against the damask flourishes! The way you've decorated the inside of the card and the envelope is super, too. Fantastic job this week, Ruth! :)
