I really liked the sketch I saw on the Simply Stampin' Challenge blog and I also liked today's Splitcoast Stampers CC326 colour challenge - Pink Pirouette, Regal Rose and Melon Mambo. So I made a card combining the two challenges. Here's the sketch.
I oriented my A6 card as landscape rather than portrait. I stamped a really subtle background on the Regal Rose card base, stamping the Bella Toile stamp using VersaMark Dazzle ink. I stamped the solid rose in Regal Rose ink after stamping off once first and the outline was stamped with Melon Mambo ink. I stamped the sentiment on a piece of vellum, tore it into a strip and inked the edges with Regal Rose ink. The dessert option on the colour challenge was to use round embellishments on your card so I used rhinestone brads to attach the vellum strip to the white circle. I also inked the edges of the white circle, I applied Dazzling Diamonds so I have a sparkly rose and I've popped the white circle up. The Pink Pirouette scalloped strip was cut with a QuicKutz border die and I added a strip of Melon Mambo dotty ribbon. To counteract all the pink, I added some white leaves cut with the Little Leaves die - I lightly sponged the leaves with Regal Rose ink.
I then stamped the envelope flap and a panel for inside the card. This card will be sent as a birthday RAK card.
