Kitty Happy Birthday Tent Card for Debs

It was our good friend Debbie's birthday on Sunday and this was the kitty tent card I made for her. I followed the Splitcoast Stampers Tent Card Tutorial again but changed my measurements. I used SU! Bashful Blue CS measuring 24 x 12 cms, scoring at 12 cms for the card base and CS measuring 12 x 12 cms and scoring at 3, 6 and 9 cms for the stand. This time I trimmed some off both ends of the stand and I attached the back of the stand to the card base before I glued on my back panel.

For the back panel, I stamped the Hero Arts Clouds stamp on a piece of Whisper White CS and added the birds.  The kitty is a Sizzix die cut which I cut out of CS plus a piece of patterned paper which I glued together.  I sponged Pumpkin Pie ink around the kitty to add a touch of definition.  I added black CS behind the face and have added green crystals for eyes.  The kitty is sandwiched between two torn strips of Olive CS.  The sentiment circle is popped up.  I added decorative photo corners and some punched butterflies to the frame to finish off the card front.

This photo shows the back of the card and the decorated envelope flap.  I sponged Old Olive ink around the Whisper White panel.  For the sentiment I used my Nellie oval dies and I added Pumpkin brads.  I covered the envelope flap with patterned paper and added the "So Glad We're Friends" sentiment circle element.

We had a birthday barbecue for Debs on Saturday night. Her hubby Mike brought his camera and took some fab photos, I love this photo of us two gals together! Debs is on the left.

Tree Thank You Tent Card

I saw the tent card tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers a couple of weeks ago and really liked the look of them. Our friend Peter very kindly sent us some Philips Imageo CandleLights as a gift for helping him to prepare for Kevin's 50th birthday party. They are battery operated candles in tall frosted glass holders and they're rechargeable. Kevin and Peter have them at home and I loved them so now I'm chuffed we have our own set! It was such a lovely surprise to receive a box through the post, you can't beat happy mail! This card has been sent to Peter as a thank you for his thoughtful gift.

I adjusted the measurements of my tent card so that I could use my metric Scor-Pal for the scoring. My card base CS measured 24 x 12 cms and I scored at 12 cms. For the stand I used CS measuring 12 x 12 cms and I scored at 3, 6 and 9 cms. I alternated valley, mountain and valley folds to make the W shaped stand.

I used circle Nesties to make the aperture and frame. The tree is from a piece of SU! Sweet Pea DSP. I roughly cut out the tree, glued it to a piece of white CS to add a bit of strength and then trimmed it carefully. I used two strips of torn Old Olive CS to represent grass and I've sandwiched the tree trunk between the strips. I used a piece of blue Sweet Pea paper on the back panel to represent sky and I've stamped my flock of birds. A sentiment and some photo corners have finished off the card front. The sentiment is popped up.



The style of tent cards means the card doesn't open so there's not a place to write inside the card. I glued a Bashful Blue CS panel to the back of the card, added a sentiment oval and this is where I wrote my message. The sentiments came from an Elzybells clear stamp set. I also decorated the flap of the envelope.



I couldn't resist decorating some belly bands for the CandleLights! They're not glued to the glass so they can slip off when I need to put the candles on their charger unit. How fun that I can change the belly bands whenever I want - I'm already looking forward to making some Christmas themed ones!

Birdhouse Thanks Card

I was playing with one of my new embossing folders and this card came about. The card measures just a tad under 6" square. I love this Inkadinkado birdhouse image and I haven't used it in a while so it was nice to get it inky again. Eggplant and Olive together is one of my favourite colour combos, on this card I threw in some Perfect Plum too. The Olive panel is popped up.

Love Birds Anniversary Card for Owen

Today is our wedding anniversary and this is the card I made for my dear hubby Owen - not to mention patient and long suffering! I used the supplies that Joanne gave us for the August SU! Stamper's Ten challenge - CS in Really Rust, Taken With Teal and More Mustard, a piece of Autumn Meadows paper and some Mustard ribbon.

I added small teal crystals as eyes and I popped up both birds. I also added 3 larger teal crystals to the strip of ribbon - I know Owen doesn't mind a touch of bling on the cards I make for him! I finished off by sticking on the metal photo corners. These were a bargain I found in the Cancer Research UK shop, 50p a pack or 3 packs for a £1 - so I snaffled a few packs!

CAS Cupcake Card - Craft For Life Campaign

Today's CAS challenge on Splitcoast Stampers is to make a card inspired by the word delicious. I immediately thought of my Hero Arts Cupcakes stamp set, one of my favourites! I used a favourite colour combo of pink and chocolate brown too.

The eyelet card was already die cut and waiting in my card blank stash. I added a strip of stripy grosgrain ribbon. I paper pieced the cupcake, sponged some Regal Rose ink around the icing, added some pink glitter and topped it off with a big pink jewel. The icing is popped up. I stamped the words on patterned paper, cut them out and popped the 'delicious' up. This card will be donated to the Craft for Life campaign to support Cancer Research UK.

Holly Merry Christmas Easel Card

This is a simple easel Christmas card made using the Waltzingmouse Stamps Sewing Box Christmas set. I love how the holly looks after paper piecing, it was an easy, fun card to make! The card measures 4 1/4" square.

The paper is from the SU! Merry Moments pack. I used my new Sizzix decorative strip die, but this time I used the rick rack die cut shape. The olive square panel is popped up.

3 Flowers Birthday Wishes - Craft for Life Card

This is the second card Joanne designed for us to make at our August SU! Stamper's 10 Make & Take evening. I've made mine slightly differently - Joanne used a white card base and SU! green glitter for her flower centres but I've made a Pretty in Pink card and I used silver glitter for my flowers. This card will be donated to the UK Cancer Research Craft for Life campaign.

The small flower stamp is from the Vintage Vogue set. The stems were hand drawn with a Mellow Moss marker pen. We rock and rolled the flowers, inking first with Pretty in Pink ink and then rock and rolling in Perfect Plum ink. We cut out the flowers and shaped them a bit by running an embossing stylus around the flower centre while it was in the palm of our hand. We added some doodling around the white panel with a Perfect Plum marker pen and sponged some Pretty in Pink ink around the edge. A sentiment and a bow for the flower stems finished off the card.
