Wonky With Love

I just got some new Nestabilities - Wonky Rectangles.  I love using Nesties for making shaped cards and I love hanging elements over the edge and these dies are perfect for that.  I have a feeling Wonky Squares will be arriving in my craft room very soon!

My hubby Owen will be starting a new job next week so I made this little card to wish him good luck.  I die cut two Crumb Cake wonky rectangles, scored a line near the top on one and glued the two together to form the card base.  I stamped the card front with a background in Crumb Cake ink and embossed the Early Espresso panel.  I stamped the heart surround image from the Sweetheart set in Early Espresso ink on Old Olive CS and added the sentiment.  I punched two olive CS hearts and punched a third  heart from patterned paper and glued them together so I got a nice chunky heart and popped it up.  I picked up this piece of Bo Bunny paper at the Glitter Pot for a bargain - the paper is scallop circle shaped and there was a rip in the scalloped part.  I loved the colour and the gorgeous pattern plus there's a touch of glitter.  The 'with love' stamp also has a heart but I punched a small red heart and covered up the stamped heart.  Then I applied a coat of Glossy Accents to make the heart shiny and dimensional.  I added metallic red brads to the Early Espresso panel but once the Glossy Accents had dried the brads weren't as deep red as the heart so I covered the brads with dark red crystals - and added three to the Old Olive wonky rectangle.

Then I decorated the envelope flap and added a sentiment and punched hearts inside the card.  I stamped the background on the Very Vanilla panel in Crumb Cake in after stamping off once, stamped the Good Luck sentiment and then sponged the edges.  Owen loved his surprise card!
