Ornament Trio Merry Christmas Card - 52 {C}CT Mar Colour Challenge

Louise has chosen a wonderfully elegant colour combo for this week's challenge at 52 {C}CT - black, metallic gold and white.

I inked my favourite beautiful ornament stamp from the SU! Keepsake Ornaments set 3 times with Encore metallic gold pigment ink and stamped twice on black CS and once on white CS.  I then heat embossed with Jeweled Gold embossing powder which is so very sparkly!  I die cut the 3 ornaments pierced holes in the Whisper White panel for hangers, stamped the sentiment  and popped the ornaments up.  I layered onto a gold CS mat, added the ribbon and added the panel to a 5 3/4" square black card base.  Hmmmm, I didn't like the piercing for the hangers, it didn't show up enough for my liking so I had to do something about that!  I used the SU! Owl punch to cut out tiny black CS circles and I covered the pierced holes with those.  Anything fiddly, painstaking and time consuming was always described by my mother-in-law as a "good game played slow!" and this was definitely one of those!  Having said that, I like the ornament hangers far better now so I was glad I did it!  I finished the card front by adding black gems and gold nailheads.

Inside I stamped a large sentiment and added two small stamped, heat embossed and die cut ornaments.  I drew strings and bows with a black pen as hangers for the ornaments.  Another of the beautiful larger ornaments went onto the envelope flap.

What a fabulous colour scheme for Christmas cards, I really hope you'll play along with us this week at 52 {C}CT, I can't wait to visit your blogs to see your classy creations!  Speaking of classy creations, do check out what the other DT members have made to inspire you!

Just love this card - so very elegant. I thought you'd made the hangers with gems, but no a much harder method - but so effective. Love the decorated inside and envelope too.

The elegantly embossed ornaments are wonderful! I'm impressed with your story about the ornament hangers. I am not sure I would have had the patience for that! The inside of the card and the envelope are lovely too! Excellent job, Ruth!
