Flower & Flag Happy Birthday Card

A while ago I marked several cards in the SU! catalogue to CASE and every now and again I make one.  Sometimes I want to get inky and creative but then I find my mojo has taken a leave of absence and that can be very frustrating and stressful for me.  That's when I find it so useful to have a card design to CASE - I can make something and play with colours and such without having to think too much.  Between the SU! catalogue, Splitcoast Stampers galleries, blog surfing, Google Images searches and Pinterest I am never short of inspiration and potential card CASEs!

I went for a completely different colour scheme and changed the layout a bit.  There's no stitching on my card either - it's either faux or no stitching on my cards!  I made an A6 Calypso Coral card base and used patterned paper from the Everyday Enchantment pack.  The mat layer and flag shape are made with Early Espresso CS and the sentiment is stamped in Espresso ink.  The flower was inked with Calypso Coral ink, punched out and popped up - after having an Everyday Enchantment brad put in the centre.

Here's the inside and the envelope.  I've used a checked background stamp which mimics the check on the flower.  I added the lines using an Early Espresso marker.

Supplies:
Stamps: SU! Posy Punch & Happiest Birthday Wishes sets, Hero Arts Dash Pattern stamp
CS: SU! Calypso Coral, Early Espresso & Whisper White
Patterned paper: SU! Everyday Enchantment DSP
Ink: SU! Calypso Coral & Early Espresso
Tools: SU! Fancy Flower punch, MFT Fishtail Flag Stax die, Perfect Layers, Stamp-a-ma-jig
Embellishments & accessories: SU! Everyday Enchantment brad, Dimensionals

This is fabulous! LOVE the colors and that brad is perfect in the center of the houndstooth bloom! :)
